Brian Statham has the full backing of everyone at Heybridge Swifts, according to long-serving committee member Mick Gibson.
The former Tottenham Hotspur professional took his first training session yesterday since becoming first-team boss and Gibson said it was a unanimous decision to give Statham the job.
He said: "Everyone is 100 per cent behind Brian. He has come highly recommended and has a wealth of experience in the non-league game.
"There is still a third of the season remaining and at the moment we are six points off promotion and one off relegation. So we hope that Brian can make something of the rest of the season. I feel it's quite an exciting prospect."
Heybridge will be now looking to bring stability to the club.
