Phil Parkinson has warned Blackburn Rovers that his Colchester United team are not going to Ewood Park just to make up the numbers.

The U's take on Mark Hughes' Rovers side tomorrow in the FA Cup fourth round and Parkinson is looking to give the Lancashire outfit the same headache that they have caused Premiership sides West Bromwich Albion and Southampton this year.

Albion were dumped out of the Carling Cup in the second round with a 2-1 victory at Layer Road last year.

And the Saints were pushed all the way at St Mary's in the next stage of the competition before the south-coast side eventually got the better of the U's, winning 3-2.

Parkinson admitted his side were the underdogs, however, that does not mean Rovers are going to have a walkover.

He said: "We are going to go up there and enjoy it. But we only will if we put in a good performance. We are not there to make the numbers up, we're there to compete."
