A woman has been left "extremely shocked" after being indecently assaulted.
The attack happened as the 33-year-old was walking home in the early hours of Wednesday in the Chelmer Village area of Chelmsford.
An Essex Police spokesman said she was returning home between 12.30am and 1.30am after spending the evening with a friend.
As she walked past Chancellor Avenue, she was approached by a man who assaulted her before running off.
