Joe Royle has bolstered his Ipswich Town defence for the promotion run-in by signing David Unsworth.
The 31-year-old former England man will join top-of-the-table Blues next week on a season-long loan from Premiership side Portsmouth.
Unsworth was with Everton when Royle was manager at Goodison Park and was a member of the side which won the FA Cup in 1995.
Speaking from Tenerife, where Royle and his Ipswich players have been enjoying a short mid-season break, the Town boss said: "David will join us next week and be available for selection for our next match at Sheffield United.
"He is an experienced player and will give us more defensive strength for the final games of the season."
