An inquest into the death of murdered student Sally Geeson will be held today.
Miss Geeson, 22, who was studying forensic science at Anglia Polytechnic University, Cambridge, vanished in the early hours of New Year's Day after celebrating with friends at a city centre pub.
Her naked body was discovered a week later in woodland at Madingley, near Cambridge, around three miles from where she was last seen. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted.
Her killer, Lance Corporal David Atkinson, 31, a Royal Engineer based at Waterbeach, near Cambridge, committed suicide 12 hours after her body was discovered, by setting himself alight and jumping from the window of a Glasgow hotel.
Hundreds of family and friends attended her funeral last week at St Mary's Church, Prittlewell, in Southend, Essex.
The inquest will be held at the Shire Hall, Cambridge, at 9.30am.
