A woman who suffered from depression was found dead in her home after taking her own life, an inquest heard.
Fiona Gilmour, of Cressing Road, Witham, was under the care of the community mental health team and had spoken about other people who had taken their lives.
The 40-year-old was found dead at her home on September 5, by friend Jeffrey Wright. He told the inquest at Chelmsford yesterday he had been worried about her for some time.
She was found hanging from a dressing gown cord and a post mortem showed only a small amount of alcohol, paracetamol and anti-depressants in her body. The cause of death was given as asphyxia due to hanging. Notes were found.
Essex coroner, Caroline Beasley-Murray, recorded a verdict that Miss Gilmour intended to take her own life.
