A policeman is facing up to 14 years in jail after being found guilty of killing a good Samaritan in a motorway smash.
PC Matthew Monaghan, 22, hit Daniel "Tommy" Gammell from Basildon at up to 70mph as the victim was in the carriageway tending to casualties of another crash.
Yesterday (Weds) at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, Monaghan, a father of one, was found guilty by a jury after causing death by dangerous driving after a three day trial.
As the unanimous verdict was returned, the PC's family wept in the public gallery.
The victim's family shouted: "Yes - we have justice - we have justice."
