Shoppers are being asked to nominate people working in retail in the town who provide a good service, from shop staff to bank tellers.
Closing date for nominations is April 25 and the winner will be presented with a trophy and cash prize of £150 at a ceremony in July.
Nomination papers can be handed in at participating shops or at the George Yard shopping centre management office.
The award was launched last year in memory of former manager of the centre, Derek Salmon, who was murdered by his wife in 2002.
