A new roundabout could be built on Clingoe Hill in Colchester, it has been revealed.
Draft plans of Essex University's new research park were unveiled at a forum of town leaders.
Plans under consideration showed a new access road from a roundabout on the A133, Clingoe Hill, between the existing traffic lights and Greenstead roundabout. No mention was made of a hoped-for rail station near the site.
Dr Harvey Perkins, managing director of the research park, said the development would take ten to 12 years to complete.
The university hopes to complete the draft of the masterplan in the next three months, and at that point submit an outline planning application for the whole site with detailed applications for student accommodation and the business centre.
