Will they never learn? Yet another lorry has got wedged in Colchester's historic Dutch Quarter.
Driver Paul Derbyshire finds the corner into East Stockwell Street just wasn't built for a lorry his size. Picture: ADRIAN RUSHTON 40743-1
Wilkinson's delivery driver Paul Derbyshire took a wrong turn at about 3.30am today. He called bosses at his depot in Worksop for reassurance - and claimed they told him to press on.
The lorry, approximately 35ft long, got stuck fast at the corner of St Helen's Lane and East Stockwell Street, a spot that has proved the downfall of dozens of drivers over the years.
He was rescued by a recovery vehicle at about 8.15am and drove away down Maidenburgh Street, after blaring his horn to get residents to move parked cars.
