Major regeneration projects across Colchester will see millions of pounds of investment, town residents and business figures have been told.
Colchester 2020, a partnership of town leaders, held its bi-annual assembly yesterday setting out progress on major schemes across the town.
Updates set out at the event included:
St Botolph's Quarter regeneration, which will see a new visual arts facility, bus station, magistrates' court and retail development
Essex Rivers Healthcare Trust and Essex University are preparing a bid for a university medical school, if the Government decides there is a need for a new one
Colchester Garrison redevelopment will see the town hosting a 'super garrison' along with new private housing. As part of preparation work, a Roman chariot racing circuit was discovered
Colchester's Community Stadium should clear the final hurdles this year, with completion during the 2006/2007 football season
