An evening of Asian cuisine raised £1,500 for the tsunami appeal, thanks to Crofters wine bar and brasserie in Witham.

Diners packed into the restaurant for a three-course Asian-style feast and Crofters donated the proceeds to the appeal, which it held after staff were affected personally by the disaster.
Part of the evening was a raffle in which punters bid for Crofters chefs to cook a meal for six in someone's home. This alone raised £400 towards the total.
