Jimmy Juan made his first appearance in an Ipswich Town shirt as the reserves suffered defeat at Coventry City.
The 21-year-old midfielder - on loan at the Blues from Monaco until the end of the season - played in yesterday's 1-0 reverse.
Juan started the match, staged at Nuneaton Borough, and played 75 minutes.
Goalkeeper Shane Supple saved a penalty but it was not enough to save his young team from defeat.
Defender Scott Barron came on as a second-half substitute, his first appearance since undergoing groin surgery.
Drissa Diallo was pencilled in to play as he continues his recovery from a hamstring problem.
However, he pulled out of a training session earlier in the week and is now due to see a specialist.
