Several possible sightings have been made of a bird of prey missing since last February.
Residents of Braintree, Cressing, Castle Hedingham and Witham have telephoned the Gazette to report seeing a red-tailed buzzard belonging to Andrew Thain, of Cressing.
The sightings date back to September 2004 and are as recent as a fortnight ago. The bird appears to have been seen in Warren Road, Braintree, and The Westerlings, Tye Green, Cressing.
Mr Thain, owner of the bird, lost it when it escaped from his aviary in February.
Mr Thain said he would be getting in touch with the people who have seen the bird and seeing where he can go from there.
