SOUTHEND United winger Nicky Nicolau is determined to get Blues back to the Millennium Stadium after inspiring Steve Tilson's side to an unexpected 2-0 triumph over Swindon Town last night.
The former Arsenal trainee netted direct from a corner during the second half and was joined on the score-sheet by striker Lawrie Dudfield as the Shrimpers won the area semi final of the LDV Vans trophy at Roots Hall.
"I missed out on going to the Millennium Stadium last year with the boys because I signed a week too late," said the former Arsenal trainee.
"I'm desperate to get there and I think we can do it. We've got a two-legged tie with Bristol Rovers but, with the spirit and togetherness we have, I really feel we can beat any team we're up against right now."
And Nicolau - who produced another lively performance on the left flank - also added he was surprised but delighted to have scored his second goal in five games.
"I took the corner and it bounced just in front of the keeper but I was a bit shocked it went straight in," he said.
"I've done it before though playing for the under-17s at Arsenal and I might have to try it more often now."
