Southend United goalkeeper Bart Griemink admitted today he is gutted to be missing out on the Shrimpers' clash against Swindon Town at Roots Hall tonight.
The experienced custodian picked up a knee problem during the League Two goalless draw with Notts County 10 days ago and has been ruled out of facing his former side in this evening's area semi final of the LDV Vans Trophy.
"It's disappointing to miss the match, but it's disappointing to miss any match right now because I had been doing well," said the Dutchman.
"It would have been nice to have played against my old team because I still talk to people there and it would have been a special night for me."
Griemink made 144 appearances during four successful seasons with the County Ground side and admitted he held fond memories of his time with the League One outfit.
