Walton and Frinton Lifeboat has undergone a major refit but has now returned to its base - and was moored at its new home for the first time at the weekend.
Operations manager Phil Oxley said it would transform the work of the crew.
"There are still one or two small things that need to be finished at the site, but the moorings are now completely sorted and we have been given the all-clear to operate from the new staging," he said.
"The crew are delighted and it is an excellent facility. It will make the boat far easier to launch and maintain and it will be a totally different ball game for us."
The lifeboat has previously been moored off Walton Pier.
