Campaigners have been highlighting the problems at Great Oakley School for more than ten years.
They say cars coming from the Beaumont direction often take a short-cut on a small access road outside the school and put children's lives at risk.
Now, council officials have made an inspection of the site and will work out how to prevent vehicles using the short-cut.
The parish council took up the case after being contacted by parents and is delighted to have secured a change.
Chairman Brian Lawrence said: "It is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot believe that anyone would design a junction like that in front of a school."
