A mother and daughter had "an astonishing escape" after their car hit a house and landed upside down.
The accident was at the junction of Roundbush Road and Winters Road, Layer Marney, yesterday afternoon.
The 39-year-old woman and her five-year-old daughter were taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital after another car was involved in a collision with their vehicle.
Ambulance technician Craig Gaunt said: "A car collided with the rear of the 4x4 vehicle. The 4x4 spun round and hit the corner of a house before flipping on to its roof.
"Astonishingly, the people inside escaped serious injury."
The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Birch, suffered a deep laceration to her head and other cuts and bruises. Her five-year-old daughter, who was in the front passenger seat, had a minor bump to the head.
Both were taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment, and have been kept in overnight as a precaution.
A young couple in the other car were also checked over at the scene but were unhurt.
