Cressing Primary School, in Tye Green, has been using a temporary building for about six years and children have to go outside of the main building to use the library.
The school has been successful in getting £25,000 funding from Essex County Council, which it must match.
Headteacher Carol Leverett said: "We are going to be building a new library in part of the courtyard of the school.
"The demountable is beginning to sink and I think it will only just about get through this winter. We are very excited about the new library."
