COLCHESTER United bounced back from last week's rotten performance against lowly Milton Keynes Dons to prove to everyone that they are still a force to be reckoned with in the Coca-Cola League One by holding leaders Luton Town.
Phil Parkinson's charges were a million miles away from the team that had succumbed so easily to defeat just seven days earlier at the National Hockey Stadium.
After that dismal performance taking on the current League leaders was not going to be a simple task.
Manager Phil Parkinson knew he had to get his side into the shape they were in when they destroyed Hull City 3-0 in the third round of the FA Cup if they were to stand a chance against Luton.
Parkinson said: "We called a meeting on Tuesday and we sat down and watched the MK Dons match and the Hull City match.
"We looked at where we did well at Hull and what went wrong at Milton Keynes.
"We had to see the difference between a good performance and a bad one."
It proved to be a valuable lesson as Colchester were more than a match for their high-flying opponents in a difficult and tight game.
