A 19-year-old man has admitted having two offensive weapons in his possession after returning from a birthday party.
Chelmsford Magistrates' Court heard yesterday how Mark Hensby, of Rayne Road, Braintree, was caught by police with a wooden rounders bat and a knuckle-duster on January 8 in his home town.
He was arrested and taken to Braintree police station.
The court heard while in interview, Hensby said he had been at a private birthday party and had drunk four pints of lager but had consumed several drinks before attending the party.
No mitigation was put forward.
The case was adjourned for reports
