Southend travel to Hertford tomorrow hoping to leapfrog their hosts and jump back into National Division Three South's top seven.
Hertford are two points and places above the ninth placed Seasiders, who have been good travellers of late, winning three of their last five fixtures on the road.
And director of rugby Kevin Harman is confident his men can return to winning ways and bounce back from last week's 27-14 defeat at league leaders and Essex rivals Barking.
"The incentive is there to beat Hertford and move above them in the table which is something we are more than capable of if we have the right attitude," he said.
"I was disappointed with parts of our performance at Barking.
"Our execution and kicking was not good enough and I was equally unhappy with our defensive formation for three of Barking's four tries.
"We will have to do better tomorrow as Hertford are a decent all round side and have a number of Saracens Academy players in their ranks, who have joined the team to gain experience."
