A man has ended up in hospital after his DIY exploits left him with a serious cut to his leg.
The accident happened while the 49-year-old, of Kirby Cross, was using a circular saw.
An ambulance and the air ambulance were sent to the address in Stubbs Close after a call to the emergency operations centre at 11.42am yesterday.
Ambulance technician Emma Nichols said: "The initial call said the man was bleeding badly from the cut on his left leg.
"When we arrived, we found he had put quite a deep cut in his lower thigh. It stretched about 10cm across.
"He told us he had been cutting a piece of wood and it had been against his leg and the saw just carried on into his thigh."
