Senior men's winner Nick Wetheridge, busily preparing for the London Marathon, took his fifth county cross-country crown since 1998.
Basildon clubmate James Shane had his expected success in the under-15 boys' race and the new towners' other triumph came from Nikki Twine in the under-13 girls.
The senior women's winner was Basildon-born Faye Fullerton who, despite representing Havering Mayesbrook, still does much of her training in the town.
