SOUTHEND skipper Jamie Connors today dedicated his Player of the Month award to the efforts of his team mates.
The 25-year-old New Zealander was named the best performer in National Division Three South for December.
However, the modest number eight, who has been at the heart of the Seasiders' recent upturn in fortunes on the pitch, was quick to praise the work rate of those around him.
"It's always nice to get some recognition and I was very happy to get the award," said Connors. "I've won a few things back at home before, like Player of the Season trophies, and it's nice to get something playing in another country.
"But this award isn't just for me - it reflects on the efforts of the whole team over the last few weeks and the club as a whole.
"All the lads have worked really hard to lift us up the league table and they all deserve just as much credit."
