Celebrities from the world of showbusiness are already lining up to support the mega two-night gala being staged for the tsunami appeal in Clacton.

Rock legend Brian May, soap stars Shane Richie from BBC's EastEnders, Wendi Peters from ITV's Coronation Street, television and radio presenter Paul Ross and Boy George have pledged gifts for auction at the gala nights.

There will also be a VIP night out with limo, plus an electric guitar as well as gifts from local garages, restaurants and boutiques.

Chriss Campbell Welch, who is staging the gala with her daughter, Tiffany, said they had been overwhelmed with people's kindness in donating gifts for auction.

The gala nights are to be held at the Princes Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, February 26 and 27. Tickets are £7 and £1 off for concessions. They can be booked now on 01255 427407 or evenings on 427376.
