A crisis meeting is being held by residents opposing plans for an on-shore windfarm near Maldon.
People living near the planned site in Bradwell have lobbied their ward district councillor Richard Dewick.
Energy company N-Power is currently carrying out tests on land near East End Road and plans to lodge a planning application with Maldon District Council in June or July.
The windfarm could consist of 26 turbines up to 125 metres high. Wind would be converted into household energy, which could supply 29,000 homes in the Maldon district.
Mr Dewick, who raised initial health concerns when the energy company announced its plans two weeks ago, said he was calling a formal meeting to discuss the company's proposals and to form an opposition group.
