Colchester's community stadium has taken a major step forward - and work on it may start next year.

There had been fears the plan for the 10,000-seat stadium would face months of delays by the project being scrutinised by the Government.
But the plans will not be called in by Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.
Colchester Council has been told Mr Prescott's office is happy with the regeneration scheme of north Colchester and Cuckoo Farm, letting the project to move forward. It could mean a planning application for the stadium is handed in this autumn, with work starting early next year.
