Clacton police station is opening its doors to anyone who is interested in becoming a special constable in the Tendring division, covering Clacton, Mistley, Walton, Brightlingsea and Harwich.
The open evening is being held on Monday from 7.45pm and starts with an introduction to the special constabulary by Insp Paul Butcher.
At the event special constables will be on hand to talk to any potential recruits about their work.
There will be a DVD presentation on the night offering an insight into the life of those already with the special constabulary.
People wanting to be a special must be aged between 18 and 50. To book a place for the evening call 01245 452824 or just turn up on the night and ask for Liz Donovan.
