Children have let their imaginations run wild in a Christmas art competition.

The competition, organised by Spring Lodge Veterinary Hospital, Powers Hall End, Witham, took the theme of animals and pets at Christmas.
Pictures ranged from giraffes roaming wild to more sedate scenes of domestic dogs and cats.
Each of the 30 entrants had to donate a tin of petfood, which will now be distributed to Colchester Cat Rescue and the RSPCA in Wethersfield.
There were three age categories: four to six, seven to nine and 10-17 .The winners were: Francesca Dooley, 10, of Copford; Charlotte Head, 7, of Tiptree; and Annek Kidd, 5, of White Courts. They all won art sets.
