A woman whose baby was stillborn is battling for compensation.
Donna Cantwell, of Pintail Crescent, Great Notley, is suing Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust for damages after the stillbirth of her child in September 2001.
In a writ issued at London's High Court, just made publicly available, Ms Cantwell is seeking damages for the personal injuries she suffered, and other unspecified losses.
The writ says Ms Cantwell's pregnancy was being managed by the Trust's St John's Hospital, Chelmsford, when the incident happened. She blames the trust's acts and omissions for the stillbirth of her child, but the writ gives no other details.
Ms Cantwell accuses the trust of negligence. Although the writ does not specify the level of damages being sought, it indicates that lawyers assess the value of the claim, if successful, at up to £100,000.
A date has not been set for the hearing.
