Sixth-formers Chris Johnson and William Shields won praise from judges with their idea for a paint-balling arena.
The entrepreneurs, who go to Harwich School's sixth form, came first in the contest to design a business plan.
Organisers of the competition said the idea of building a paint-balling facility in a run-down area of Harwich was "highly original and enterprising".
Both Chris and William were presented with £100 during a presentation at the sixth form centre on Thursday.
