Southend United winger Mark Gower is hoping to help the Shrimpers return to winning ways against Notts County at Roots Hall tomorrow - but does not expect to start.
The talented winger has missed the Seasiders last four matches with a niggling back injury and, despite having recently returned to training, the former Barnet man should again be on the bench tomorrow.
"I haven't spoken to the manager yet, and obviously it's his decision at the end of the day, but I don't think I will be able to start the game," said the 26-year-old.
"I trained towards the end of last week and although my back is a bit better now I did nothing for two weeks and it's my match fitness which is the problem.
"I need to get that back before I can return to my best form."
