THURROCK'S sides produced a series of inspiring results over the weekend, with Thurrock FC leading the way with am impressive victory of Conference National side Aldershot.
Colin McBride's team emerged victorious thanks to David Lee's 57th minute goal, the only one of Sunday's match.
And the borough's other Conference South side, leaders Grays Athletic, went through to the fourth round thanks to a 2-0 win at league rivals Sutton United. The Blues went through with goals from Dennis Oli on 56 minutes and Leroy Griffiths on 71.
In the Southern League Division One East, East Thurrock United's promotion campaign is now firmly back on track and Lee Patterson's side are in fourth place with hopes of catching Uxbridge for the second automatic promotion spot behind runaway leaders Fisher.
They enjoyed a 3-0 home success against Leighton Town on Saturday thanks to goals in the seventh and 68th minute from Vinnie John and a 25th minute strike from Burns.
Aveley built on their impressive performance against Uxbridge last week with a 2-0 win at Harlow thanks to goals from Sam Thomas and Mark Risley.
Bottom club Tilbury gave a brave performance against Boreham Wood and led for more than half an hour after Chima Eberendu's 32nd minute goal. However a penalty from visiting keeper Noel Imber on 67 minutes gave the visitors a deserved share of the points.
