One of mid Essex's most well known pubs is to call last orders.
The Army and Navy at Chelmsford - which had a reputation for live music and launching new bands - is to be redeveloped, possibly for housing.
The pub's owners, Mitchells and Butlers, confirmed that contracts had been exchanged with the new buyer and the pub would close at the end of the month.
The name of the new owners has not been revealed but it is expected that the site next to the flyover will be redeveloped.
