Clacton's biggest school is making an ambitious bid for media arts college status.
Colbayns High School wants to work with the community to make the most of exciting new facilities at the site in Pathfields Road.
If the initiative comes off, it would unlock up to £500,000 in Government funding over three years.
But the designation will only be successful if Colbayns can raise £50,000 in sponsorship to qualify for the status.
An application is due to to be made in October.
