Kem Izzet is out for the season.
Out for the rest of the season - Kem Izzet.
The tenacious Colchester United midfielder underwent surgery yesterday in a bid to heal an ankle ligament injury as his recovery was not going to plan.
U's physio Stuart Ayles had travelled down to London with Izzet. He told the Gazette: "It's not good news.
"He is going to need three months to recover which has written him off for the rest of the season really. The usual process of physio didn't work and after seeing a specialist the best option was surgery."
Izzet damaged his ankle ligaments in the U's pre-season game against Watford.
There was, however, some good news from Ayles. Richard Garcia is back and available for selection depending on the result of a fitness test yesterday.
