A teaching assistant at a Braintree school has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious knee injury while in the middle of the playing fields.
The accident happened at the Edith Borthwick School in Fennes Road at about 12.55pm yesterday.
An ambulance was sent to the scene followed by the Essex Air Ambulance. Clare Cole, paramedic, said: "When we arrived ,we discovered that the woman had badly dislocated her knee.
"Because of where she was, it would have been difficult to get the stretcher to her."
The 30-year-old, who comes from Braintree, will now have X-rays done to discover the full extent of her injury.
