BOWERS and Pitsea boss Darran George praised an "awseome performance" from his players last night as they reached the semi-finals of the Essex Senior Cup with a 3-1 success at Waltham Forest.
It was the Eastway Essex Senior League side's third successive win over Southern League Division One East opposition in the competition and George said: "I'm in a state of shock.
"It's very unusual for a side from our level to get this far in the senior county cup and I'm proud of each and every one of our players."
Basildon United reached the semi-finals of the Senior League's Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy, joining Burnham, Waltham Abbey and Southend Manor, with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win over Hullbridge Sports.
