SOUTHEND United manager Steve Tilson has ended his search to sign a winger on loan for the Shrimpers.

The Wickford-born boss planned to bolster his promotion-pushing squad by purchasing players on a temporary basis.

But after several failed swoops, Tilson will no longer be looking for fresh faces.

"I tried to get a few people in on loan but clubs were a bit reluctant to let people out," confirmed the Seasiders chief.

"Some of the ones we wanted weren't available, while others didn't want to drop down to League Two, which was obviously disappointing.

"But we're doing well so I don't think I need to bring anyone in anymore anyway."
