TV archaeologist and Blackadder star Tony Robinson is heading to Colchester to help mark Essex University's 40th birthday celebrations.
The actor, who fronts Channel 4's Time Team and played Baldric in the hit comedy show, will present the prestigious Colchester Lecture, which celebrates its 25th birthday this year.
It is just the latest in a string of archaeological coups for England's oldest-recorded town.
Last year, ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman made a special guest appearance at Colchester Castle for an archaeology roadshow.
Last week, the Gazette revealed the remains of a 2,000-year-old Roman chariot racetrack had been unearthed in the town.
The lecture, at Essex University on April 4, will look back at the first ten years of Time Team.
