A town's new multi-million hospital is to be named after a war hero and a ship.
Tendring Primary Care Trust looks set to agree that Harwich's new facility is called the Fryatt Hospital and Mayflower Medical Centre.
The choice has been made following full consultation with residents and local groups. Board members will meet on Thursday to rubber-stamp the deicsion.
Work on the project is under way and it is hoped that it will be completed by November 2005.
The name has been selected to commemorate local merchant shipmaster and First World War hero, Captain Charles Fryatt.
