Rail passengers are carrying bottles to urinate in due to the lack of toilets in trains, a commuter claims.
Inconvenienced - Peter Bourne 40381-1
Peter Bourne says he has seen fellow One passengers urinating in first class because the problem is so bad.
The 62-year-old, who travels regularly from Eight Ash Green to London, said: "I've seen people peeing in first class and I'm now carrying a bottle - how embarrassing is it going to have to get?
"It's unbelievable, we're going back in time."
Mr Bourne has spoken out after complaining to the company and receiving an explanation he's not happy with.
He wrote to complain about toilets not working on new trains brought in in 2003.
They lock automatically when sensors detect the water tank is full, but teething problems meant they were locking too soon.
One bosses told him: "We try to maintain all the facilities to the highest possible standards, but it is not always possible to carry out repairs straight away."
Now Mr Bourne, of Halstead Road, claims toilets are constantly out of order because staff are failing to empty them.
A spokesman for One said: "The trains are emptied at the maintenance depot and generally we keep on top of that.
"But occasionally it will happen when a train is in service. It's not something which is a huge problem, and we are sorry for the inconvenience it causes when it does happen."
