Maurice and Irene Durrant, of Renmar Nurseries in Crown Lane, Tendring, are in the dog house with neighbours over noise and smells coming from the site.
Tendring councillors refused permission for them to keep the kennels on the land earlier this year but now they have appealed against the decision.
The pair are hopeful it will be overturned by a Government inspector.
"We used to have ten greyhounds here but now there are only six," said Mrs Durrant.
"The others were all found places to live."
Mrs Durrant, 69, and her 68-year-old husband race the dogs, mainly at Great Yarmouth greyhound track.
