Following a break of nearly three weeks, Mersea Island return to division four north east action tomorrow with a tough home match against third-placed Basildon.
After the euphoria and disappointment of the Powergen Junior Vase, the Islanders can now concentrate solely on the league and hopefully string a run of good results together.
The one advantage for the Islanders is that six of the eight remaining league fixtures are at home, but they must make this advantage pay.
Basildon will be formidable opponents, but at least the Islanders know they are capable of beating them. In October the Islanders narrowly lost 29-30 away to the South Essex side and last season at home beat them by over 30 points.
