Liam Chilvers feels there are goals in the Colchester United defence!
Backing the U's defence to score again soon - Liam Chilvers
The front pairing of Craig Fagan and defender-turned-striker Greg Halford have been ably supported in recent weeks by the U's midfield.
Neil Danns, Richard Garcia and Gavin Johnson were all on the scoresheet at Swindon Town, and are on their way to getting into double figures this season.
But the current back four - Chilvers, Sam Stockley, Pat Baldwin and Wayne Brown - have only managed one solitary goal between them.
That came on the opening day when Stockley almost broke the net with his drive to seal a 3-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday.
Since then the defence has been more focused on their number one priority keeping goals out.
However, with two clean sheets under their belts, the rearguard are showing steel at the back and Chilvers believes it's time to start getting in the mix up front.
He said: "The defence is more than capable of doing their bit up front.
"Pat Baldwin had a good chance against Oldham Athletic on Monday and I don't think it will be long before we're able to contribute in that department."
