Controversial plans to charge council workers to park in town will face scrutiny.
Colchester Council's cabinet agreed this month to start charging its employees to park in the town, with varying prices depending on the salary.
The plan had attracted widespread criticism from the union Unison, which called for more suitable infrastructure such as better public transport and park-and-ride schemes to be brought in first.
It has been criticised as being full of grey areas and unanswered questions, and is expected to face extensive scrutiny when it is debated.
Cabinet members agreed to the travel plan, subject to a six-month trial and then review the scheme.
It will also be debated by the strategic overview and scrutiny panel at its meeting on January 11 before sending a report to the cabinet.
