An initiative set up to help youngsters with learning difficulties in Tendring is a victim of its own success - and needs more male volunteers.
Circles of Support Tendring aims to help its clients make the difficult transition from school to the adult community.
It opened up in Clacton last year and is already finding it difficult to meet the demand.
Co-ordinator Mary Hall said she had been surprised by the level of need for the service across the district.
"It has been absolutely brilliant that we have been so busy in some ways but it also brings its own problems," she said.
"There is more call for the service than we can fund and we are also desperately short of men for our male clients."
