Tributes have been paid to a devoted father-of-three who died in a car accident which left the rest of his family in hospital.
Father-of-three - Colin Hobson
Colin Hobson, 29, of Stubbs Lane, Braintree, died after the Rover 75 car his wife, Victoria, was driving hit the central reservation of the A130 at Rettendon and was involved in a collision with another car on Thursday.
Two other cars then hit the wreckage. Mr Hobson was certified dead at the scene of the accident.
Ron Chivers, Mr Hobson's father-in-law, who lives in Courtauld Road, Braintree, said: "He was like a son to me. All he wanted to do was work and look after his family.
"They did everything as a family. He is irreplaceable and a first-class son-in-law."
His two youngest children Rocco, nearly six-months-old, and Presley, three, were taken to Southend Hospital and discharged on Christmas Eve.
Mrs Hobson, 25, and daughter Jamie, six, were taken to Basildon Hospital with serious injuries.
